| Summary, etc. | Au xxe siècle, la nouvelle matérialité numérique de l’écrit fonde l’écran, au singulier, comme une véritable forme culturelle infléchissant les repères de la culture écrite imprimée. Les peintres et les photographes avaient nourri les imaginaires de la culture écrite par les scènes de genre que sont les « scènes de lecture ». Aujourd’hui, que sont nos « scènes de lecture » ? Que nous apprennent-elles de la lecture comme pratique sociale, culturelle, matérielle et comme expérience à la fois standardisée, sensible et contingente ? À l’encontre des discours pointant les « dangers de l’écran » ou ses bienfaits essentialisés, l’ouvrage interroge la culture visuelle de la lecture sur écran à partir d’une investigation sémiologique et critique dans trente années d’images publicitaires, artistiques, institutionnelles ou encore privées. Largement illustrées, ces Fantasmagories de l’écran témoignent de l’imprégnation sociale et triviale de nouveaux rapports au visible et au lisible dans la culture écrite.
