| Summary, etc. | Allant au-delà des apparences d’équivalence entre les systèmes éducatifs sur lesquelles se fondent les évaluations internationales, cet ouvrage s’attache à révéler les conceptions profondes de l’éducation qui irriguent les lycées dans trois systèmes éducatifs, l’anglais, l’italien et le français. L’originalité et l’intérêt de l’ouvrage résident dans le choix de l’autrice de mettre au centre de son analyse le curriculum, en révélant les expériences d’apprentissage et les différentes visions de l’éducation qu’ils expriment, de façon explicite ou non. Ainsi, la formation du lycéen « expert » en Angleterre contraste-t-elle avec celle du lycéen « cultivé » en Italie et du lycéen que l’école formate d’abord, en France, sans qu’on en ait conscience, comme « stratège ». Cette exploration internationale permet de mieux comprendre les enjeux liés aux réformes des curricula, à l’utilisation de la comparaison en éducation et à la définition de ce qu’est le lycée au sein d’une société. This publication challenges the logic followed by the international evaluations suggesting an apparent equivalence between education systems. It aims to put forth the deep-rooted conceptions of education that permeate “lycées” (high school) in three education systems: English, Italian and French. The originality and interest of the book lie in the author's choice to place the curriculum at the center of the analysis, uncovering the learning experiences and the different approaches to education that they express, whether they are explicitly or not. From this standing point, the education of the 'expert' secondary school pupil in England contrasts with that of the 'cultivated' secondary pupil in Italy, and the secondary school pupil in France who is initially educated as a 'strategist'. This international research provides unique insights of the issues involved in curriculum reform, the role of comparison in education and the societal definition of a “lycée”. |
