| Summary, etc. | Qui, en regardant une carte en couleur des communes de l'agglomération, n'est frappé par l'« anomalie villeurbannaise » ? Pourquoi cette ville, encastrée comme un corps étranger au flanc nord-est de Lyon, n'a-t-elle pas été annexée par sa puissante voisine ? Quels événements civils ou militaires, individuels ou sociaux, quelles volontés politiques surtout ont pu déterminer cette « différenciation » ? Il ne suffisait pas en effet d'éviter l'annexion, encore fallait-il que les responsables municipaux successifs voulussent donner à cette cité ouvrière un destin particularisé qui réponde aux attentes de sa population... C'est ce destin original que présente Bernard Meuret, enseignant de Sociologie Urbaine à l'INSA dans cette étude du socialisme municipal à Villeurbanne depuis 1880. |
