| Summary, etc. | Pour reprendre les mots d'Armand Salacrou, si « Le Havre est une ville d'hommes », ceux-ci – essentiellement jeunes ouvriers, marins et instituteurs, normands et bretons – ont construit l'histoire des « communistes au Havre ». Le choix que fit une minorité d'entre eux de devenir des élus du Front populaire dans les 3e et 4e cantons, des résistants engagés dans la lutte armée, des gestionnaires politiques de municipalités d'union de la gauche, leur donne une place singulière. Le développement de réseaux de militants syndicaux et culturels, l'élargissement du vote communiste à de nouvelles couches sociales furent à l'origine d'une forme d'hégémonie progressivement déconstruite. |
