| Summary, etc. | L'analyse des sources arabes, manuscrites comme éditées, permet de reconstituer l'histoire de la principauté de Damas, de 1076 (date de sa constitution au départ des troupes fatimides qui occupaient la ville) jusqu'en 1154 (prise de la cite par le prince zankide Nur al-Din et, ainsi, formation d'un grand État de Syrie et Gazira).Cette étude s'attache a suivre la politique extérieure des maitres successifs de Damas, face aux Fatimides, aux Salguqides, puis aux Francs et petites principautés de Syrie intérieure. On peut noter qu'en général (surtout après la mort de Tutus en 1095), le choix des princes se porta sur des objectifs limites et une politique de bon voisinage. Toutefois, la montée du sentiment anti-croise parmi les élites urbaines sunnites, la pression des 'Abbasides, et l'absence de sens politique de la part de certains responsables de Terre Sainte comme des croises fraichement débarques, rendaient la position des souverains de Damas particulièrement périlleuse. Enfin, la situation intérieure, aux niveaux politique et économique, se traduisit par une série de crises difficiles à gérer. The analysis of manuscripts as well as edited Arab sources allows the reconstruction of the history of the principality of Damascus from 1076 (its foundation on the departure of the fāṭimid troops who occupied the city) to 1154 (the capture of the city by the Zankīd prince Nūr al-Dīn, and thus the creation of a grand state of Syria and Ğazīra). This study aims to follow the foreign policy of the successive princes of Damascus with regard to the Fāṭimids, the Salğuqids, the Franks, and the small principalities from Central Syria.It is noteworthy that (especially after Tutuš's death in 1095) the princes generally opted for limited objectives and a policy of neighbourliness.
