| Summary, etc. | Francois Bourricaud (Francia, 1922-1991) empezó muy joven su carrera académica. Llegó por primera vez al Perú en 1951, gracias a la obtención de una beca de investigación y se quedó dos años en Puno. Retornó en 1963 por otros dos años y luego viajó frecuentemente a este país hasta 1974. Su producción científica en todo ese periodo fue muy fructífera, con más de 40 artículos científicos y dos libros magistrales: Cambios en Puno (1962) y Poder y sociedad en el Perú (1967). Así, el Perú fue siempre para François Bourricaud un laboratorio científico apasionante para entender mejor los fenómenos de los cambios sociales y el papel de las especificidades políticas y culturales, así como las políticas y teorías del desarrollo. Este libro fue publicado en español el año 1967, en México, por el Instituto Indigenista Interamericano. En palabras del propio autor, si bien la elección geográfica fue casual, “las características de la organización social que poníamos en evidencia se interpretaban solamente en relación con un conjunto mucho más vasto, respecto de una 'zona de contradicción'. Si nuestro trabajo puede pretender algún mérito, el único que le reivindicaríamos sería el de preparar la exploración metódica de este fondo común que aflora bajo las singularidades de una situación regional”. |
