Esta obra colectiva aborda el debate sobre las formas de dominación y las relaciones de sumisión que han sustentado a los imperios de la Antigüedad. Desde un enfoque transcultural y comparado, busca entender cómo se construyen los diferentes marcos jurídicos, administrativos, sociales y culturales sobre los que reposa el poder del imperio, además de acometer el estudio de las relaciones que se crean bajo las administraciones imperiales y las estructuras que engendran y reproducen la sujeción de los vencidos. Pero no sólo los medios de coerción directa son objeto de interés de esta obra, sino que se afronta también la comprensión de los mecanismos de control fundamentados en el dominio ideológico, las formas de hegemonía y las estrategias de soft power. Se busca así incorporar la perspectiva de los sometidos a través de los procesos de resistencia individual y colectiva a la subordinación al imperio. This collective work addresses the debate on the forms of domination and relationships of submission that have sustained the empires of Antiquity. From a transcultural and comparative approach, it seeks to understand how the different legal, administrative, social and cultural frameworks on which the power of the empire rests are built. In addition, it undertakes the study of the relationships created under the imperial administrations and the structures that engender and reproduce the subjection of the defeated. But not only the means of direct coercion are the object of interest of this work, but also the understanding of the control mechanisms based on the ideological domain, the forms of hegemony and the strategies of soft power. It thus seeks to incorporate the perspective of those subjected through the processes of individual and collective resistance to subordination to the empire.
