Plutôt que l’image stéréotypée du grand adversaire de l’hégélianisme, il en ressort la vision plus nuancée d’une pensée deleuzienne qui a tenté d’accomplir la révolution philosophique que Hegel avait amorcée mais qu’il n’était pas parvenu à accomplir véritablement. How can we understand Gilles Deleuze's critical relationship with Hegel's philosophy? Is it possible to think about this agonistic relationship without adopting the simplistic image of an irreducible opposition? This is the challenge of La révolution trahie : Deleuze contre Hegel. By going back to his early texts and covering the whole of his philosophical development up to his joint work with Félix Guattari and his last writings, the book shows how Deleuze formed his intellectual project in dialogue with Hegelian philosophy and never stopped talking to it. Rather than the stereotypical image of the great adversary of Hegelianism, what emerges is a more nuanced vision of a Deleuzian thought that attempted to accomplish the philosophical revolution that Hegel had initiated but had not managed to truly accomplish.
